Making The Switch is a key part of NJOY The Switch, the self-guided switch support program designed by our team of experts to make your switching process from smoking to vapor so enjoyable that you’ll actually want to do it. The program includes a unique combination of advice and evidence based behavioral change techniques developed by experts coupled with real world experience and insights from switchers.

This module is for current adult smokers thinking about how to switch or already switching. It will help you develop your skills and confidence to make the switch. You might find it most useful to go through this module after you worked through another in our series called "About My Journey - NJOY The Switch).

Millions of smokers around the world have already switched to vaping, and millions more will make the switch in 2018. How are they doing it?

Having access to high quality e-cigarettes that taste great and deliver nicotine like a cigarette is obviously hugely important. But having high quality e-cigarettes is only part of what helps smokers to make the switch – how a smoker thinks, feels and acts also influences how easy, how long, and how enjoyable his/her switch to vaping will be.

Beyond using NJOY’s satisfying e-cigarettes, there are a number of behavioral skills, strategies and resources you can develop that will greatly increase your ability, your self-confidence, and your motivation to make your switch to vaping easier and more enjoyable.

In this module, we’ll help you to develop five cognitive-behavioural strategies, skills and resources that will be key to making your switch to vaping easier and much more enjoyable.

Learning these skills and strategies will not be particularly difficult for you – virtually anyone can learn them. What will require more effort, however, is committing to putting these skills and strategies into practice each day. 

Hi, I’m Doug Teitelbaum, the CEO of NJOY, and an ex-smoker. I smoked two packs a day for over 20 years.

We both know that quitting is hard, especially if you love smoking the way I did. But I didn’t love the guilt that came with each one. I didn’t love knowing that I was hurting myself and people close to me. Or having to go outside to have a butt, and smelling like one when I came back. And I definitely didn’t love being shamed for something that I truly enjoyed. I’ve been successful in almost everything I’ve tackled my life, but I failed at quitting smoking.

But truth be told, I didn’t want to quit.

So I decided to Switch instead.

I want to help you become a non-smoker, and to leave the cigarettes and the guilt that comes with them behind. Now we are launching the first-ever comprehensive switching program, designed by experts and offering switching tips, video, and advice from other successful switchers.

I believe anyone can take the journey I took without the shame, the denial, and the frustration. Think of me as NJOY’s “Chief Switching Officer.” It’s my mission, and the mission of NJOY, to provide you with the most satisfying, effective, convenient and reasonably-priced alternatives to smoking tobacco, and to help you succeed on your own path to switching.

    Plan For Success

    First, we’ll help you to create your plan for success, focussing on setting daily, weekly and long-term switching goals, and specifying what needs to change in your life to reach these goals.

    Replacing Smoking with Vaping

    Next, we’ll help you develop a habit of vaping in place of smoking. We’ll do this by helping you to identify times and situations in which you normally smoke, increase your commitment to vaping your e-cigarette whenever you feel like smoking a cigarette, and put in place a plan to gradually replac

    In this level, read, watch and listen to the switching stories, advice and experiences of people who have already switched from smoking to vaping. Follow these Switchers' tips to make your switch to vaping easier and more enjoyable.

    Talk to Switchers

    In this level, we provide outlets for you to chat directly with other Switchers and experienced vapers who are ex-smokers, two groups of people who know exactly what you're going through and who can provide invaluable insights into their own ongoing or completed switching journeys.

    Building a Circle of Supporters

    In this final level, we’ll help you build a circle of people to support you on every step of your switching journey, and explain to your supporters how they can give you the support you want and need.
